IT, technology and media, this was the motto of this year’s job fair Traumberuf IT, which took place on December 8 at the STATION in Berlin.
Traumberuf IT is part of Germany’s largest series of trade fairs for choosing studies and training in the future-oriented fields of MINT (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences, technology) and media. Around 70 exhibitors were guests. Among them are renowned universities, technical colleges and numerous companies. As a training company from Berlin, nexnet was of course also there.
Training and studies at nexnet
The first curious students and parents came to the hall first thing in the morning. And gathered first impressions. Despite the extensive 2G concept and the need for advance registration, the fair was well attended. Also at booth 22, where we from nexnet could be found, many visitors came by and talked to our IT department managers Christian Kunert and Dirk Borkowski and trainees Sebastian Maiwald and Edith Timoteo. In this way, they were able to experience first-hand how training at nexnet is structured and what advantages and career paths result from training or studying at nexnet.
Around lunchtime, the crowds of young people were at their greatest. “Many more students came to the trade fair than we had expected. That made us very happy, of course,” reports Sebastian M., trainee IT specialist for system integration at nexnet. Training and studying in the STEM professions and media professions in particular is becoming increasingly popular and offers students promising prospects for the future.
Surprisingly, the students were not only interested in the apprenticeships for IT specialists in the field of application development and IT specialists for system integration, but also in the apprenticeship for office management, which nexnet also offers. In addition, the students were also able to find out about a dual study program in the field of business informatics at nexnet.
Conclusion
For us, the Traumberuf IT job fair was a great event and we were pleased to see how many young talents can imagine a future in the STEM and media sector. We were able to have great conversations and give one or the other trade fair participant a glimpse into the professional future at nexnet .
After a long day at the fair, we were exhausted but happy. Sebastian M. still tells us, “A large part of the students were also enthusiastic about our giveaways and halfway through, our supply was completely used up.” And Edith T. (trainee at nexnet) adds: “The fair was very great.”
We will be happy to participate again next year. You would like to meet us at a trade fair?
