The fact that the trade show has an international focus was also demonstrated by the 21 nations represented at the event. Countries like Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, France, Austria, Poland or Czech Republic were present. An exciting insight into the e-commerce industry and the topics that will move the market in 2019 was also provided by the 40 speakers who eagerly discussed on 4 stages.

Just a stone’s throw from the Potsdamer Platz office, E-Commerce EXPO 2019 was a homecoming for nexnet. As in the previous year, the subscription management specialist was also present at the digital commerce industry meeting this February. Together with Logistiknetzwerk Berlin Brandenburg (LNBB), the portfolio for accounts receivable management and subscription billing was presented. Thanks to the SAP-supported software, even highly scalable business models of the start-ups are no problem.

Also in the focus of the participants the international expansion. Because even if growing business is cause for celebration, many entrepreneurs underestimate the enormous accounting effort behind growth and internationalization. Swiss franc, dollar, yen – are the differences that big? Many startups have asked themselves this question. Most of the time it was dismissed with a slight shrug of the shoulders as a minor matter. But if you don’t handle foreign currencies and exotic tax rates correctly, you risk having incorrect amounts in your monthly financial statements. By outsourcing their financial management to nexnet, companies are on the safe side. This is because the Berlin-based company handles all transactions reliably and quickly thanks to its BPO approach. The customer receives a finished, error-free and certifiable monthly statement – but at the same time has an overview of every transaction and the current financial status at all times.

There is a lot to consider not only when expanding internationally. Business models must also be adapted to the new consumer behavior. Subscription economy is the magic word. Here, the customer pays for the permanent use of a service or the regular delivery of an item. Better known as a subscription model. This provides companies with regular revenue and better insight into customer behavior. However, the IT effort required to implement subscription models is very high and is often underestimated. Subscription management places completely new demands on customer relationship management. The new transactions must also be accrued differently on the customer side. In many cases, financial accounting departments are not at all prepared for all these requirements. This is where nexnet’s Subscription Billing helps.
